Unrecognizable Being and Monologue (2005–2006)

The human figure in the image remains in silence, confronting an unseen presence. The black forms that cross or penetrate the figure symbolize an unrecognizable being that exists between human consciousness and the unconscious. Though it cannot be clearly defined, it continually influences human existence, provoking questions of being and inner monologue.

The simplified figure and expansive empty space create an atmosphere of solitude and silence. The figure attempts to perceive this unseen presence, yet can never fully understand it, remaining engaged in contemplation and monologue. This body of work explores the process through which human beings seek to affirm their own existence while moving between presence and absence, recognition and forgetting.
