Boundary Between the Cold Tide and Ebb Tide

 

The figure is submerged in a cold incoming tide. As time passes, the tide recedes, leaving the figure behind. Through permeation, diffusion, and evaporation, only traces remain.

​

The blue hue moves between the interior and exterior of the body, blurring boundaries, while the figure continuously transforms through external stimuli and the passage of time. The permeated colors and diffused marks reveal traces of memories, emotions, and relationships accumulated throughout life.

​

Just as evaporated water returns to the earth, existence itself is placed within an endless cycle. Through the processes of permeation, diffusion, condensation, and evaporation, this work visualizes the finitude of human existence and the cyclical nature of time.

Lives once beside us disappear, and while waiting for something yet to return, we continue to contemplate.
