The Weight of Contemplation (2024)
Red balloons filled with water are suspended from the ceiling and connected by red threads. The balloons symbolize the beginning of life and the origin of existence, while the threads suggest umbilical cords that sustain the weight of life.
As the water gradually evaporates, the balloons shrink and transform over time, revealing the fragility and impermanence of human existence. Through the changing state of water and the force of gravity, the work reflects on time, mortality, and the meaning of being human.
사유의 무게 (2024)
붉은 풍선에 물을 담아 천장에 매달고, 붉은 실로 서로 연결하여 공간을 구성하였다. 풍선은 생명의 시작을 상징하는 핏덩이이자 존재의 근원을 의미하며, 실은 삶의 무게를 지탱하는 탯줄을 상징한다.
풍선 속 물은 시간의 흐름과 공간의 환경에 따라 점차 증발하고 부피가 줄어들며, 인간 존재의 유한성과 불안정성을 드러낸다. 이 작업은 물의 변화와 중력의 작용을 통해 삶의 무게와 시간, 소멸의 과정을 시각화하며 인간 존재의 의미를 탐구한다.
