Invisible Weight (2024)
This installation consists of a water-filled red balloon placed beneath a sheet of glass. The red balloon symbolizes life and the human body, while the glass represents external pressure and the invisible weight imposed upon existence.
Although glass is a solid material, its transparency makes its presence difficult to perceive. Yet the balloon bears its weight entirely, altering its form in response. The pressure remains unseen, but it undeniably exists, and life continuously strives to maintain balance beneath it.
Through the contrast between the fragile balloon and the rigid glass, the work reflects on the invisible pressures encountered within human relationships, society, and time. Life endures these pressures, changing its form and leaving traces in the process.
보이지 않는 무게 (2024)
물을 담은 붉은 풍선 위에 유리판을 올려놓은 설치 작업이다. 붉은 풍선은 생명과 신체를 상징하며, 유리판은 외부로부터 가해지는 압력과 보이지 않는 무게를 드러낸다.
유리는 단단한 물질이지만 투명하기 때문에 그 존재를 쉽게 인식하기 어렵다. 그러나 풍선은 그 무게를 온전히 받아내며 형태를 변화시킨다. 압력은 눈에 보이지 않지만 분명히 존재하며, 생명은 그 안에서 끊임없이 균형을 유지하려 한다.
이 작업은 연약한 풍선과 단단한 유리의 대비를 통해 인간이 관계와 사회, 시간 속에서 마주하는 보이지 않는 압력에 대해 이야기한다. 생명은 끊임없이 압력을 견디며 존재하고, 그 과정 속에서 형태를 바꾸고 흔적을 남긴다.
